Illinois Sexual Harassment Prevention Training v1.0
This course provides an overview of sexual harassment in the workplace. This includes a discussion of the Federal Laws related to sexual harassment as well as the Illinois Human Rights Act. This course also addresses types of sexual harassment, characteristics of a hostile work environment, what you should do if you experience sexual harassment, as well as certain protections against retaliation. Finally, this course concludes with a discussion of employer responsibilities and liabilities.
This course fulfills the Illinois sexual harassment prevention training requirement.
Learning Objectives:
After completing this course, participants should be able to:
- Define sexual harassment.
- Understand the role of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and how it's been used to define sexual harassment.
- Understand the Illinois Human Rights Act and how the Illinois Department of Human Rights administers it.
- Identify quid pro quo harassment and give an example of it.
- Identify hostile work environment harassment and give an example of it.
- Summarize the steps required to report sexual harassment in the workplace.
- Explain the steps required to report sexual harassment to an outside entity.
- Explain protection from retaliation.
- Describe the responsibilities and liabilities of an employer.
